Electrical Safety
This eLearning course was designed and developed for new employees at a medical equipment company to review and practice safety measures and procedures related to electrical equipment safety.
Learn More
Problem:
Management has noticed that electrical incidents are occurring at a high rate with new employees. Three areas have been identified as needing additional training that allows the new technicians to review and practice the skills and knowledge they will need when they are deployed in the field. The three areas are:
Defective Equipment
Preventative Maintenance
Red Electrical Outlets
Solution:
New employees need additional time to review procedures and practice applying the skills necessary to safely perform their jobs.

About the Interaction:
An accordion interaction was used to organize the four steps necessary to complete a Preventive Maintenance (PM) sticker. It allows the learner to explore the required steps in a logical and sequential order.
Highlights:
Layers (one for each part of the PM Sticker)
Motion Paths (to open accordion layers)
States (Normal, Hover, Selected, Disabled)
Triggers (reveal/hide layers, change states)
Forced navigational path (learners can only access one layer at a time in a predetermined order)
Conditional Next Button (when all layers have been visited)

E-LEARNING HEROES CHALLENGE
Select the "Experience the Interaction" icon to view the project or "Learn More" to access detailed information about the interaction.
Articulate produces Storyline 360, an e-learning authoring tool that I absolutely adore. Each week they sponsor E-Learning Heroes Challenges that provide eLearning developers and instructional designers opportunities to learn, share, and develop their skills.
CHALLENGE #449:
USING EMPHASIS ANIMATIONS TO GRAB LEARNERS' ATTENTION
Learn More
About the Interaction:
For this E-Learning Heroes challenge, I used all 5 emphasis animations to guide the learner through the interaction by either drawing their eye to particular elements (teeter, grow, shake, pulse) or de-emphasizing others (shrink) while exploring the top 9 food allergens.
Highlights:
Teeter emphasis animation on the directions
Grow emphasis animation on each allergen image
Shrink emphasis animation on each button
Shake emphasis animation on allergen image of each layer
Pulse emphasis animation on on-screen description of each allergen
Layers (one for each of the nine allergens)
States for the buttons (Normal, Hover, Selected)
Triggers (reveal/hide layers, change states, begin animations)
